The Remembrance Kilm – Tradition against Oblivion – was created in Bosfam as a wish of women to keep up the memory of their missing and killed family members. Kilim, as a traditional handicraft, as a long life cycle and, by weaving this kilim, the women wanted for the memory of the genocide victims to continue, even when they will be gone…

Kilims were woven for hours, days and months…

Kilims bear names and memories, inwrought along with the pain for the loss of the loved ones…

Kilims are soaked with the streams of tears…

So far, 17 Remembrance Kilims were made…

Today, REMEMBRANCE KILIMS are in:

  • THE TUZLA GALLERY OF PORTRAIT
  • in SARAJEVO
  • in USA

Bosfram made 10 kilims with names and a kilim woven especially for the 20th anniversary of the genocide as its contribution to the Memorial centre.

We are WAITING for the POTOCARI – SREBRENICA MEMORIAL CENTRE to provide space to put up the kilims where they belong.
